glowbug Terms of Service
Draft for legal review. Version 2026-10-16.
These terms are an agreement between you and Nimonic (니모닉) ("we", "us"), a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea. Our business details are in section 22. The Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy are part of these terms. You accept these terms when you agree to them in the app or on our website.
1. Who can use glowbug
- You must be at least 18 years old, or 19 in the Republic of Korea. You confirm your age when you accept these terms, and you can't use the AI features before you do.
- In Korea, a paid contract made by a minor without a legal guardian's consent can be cancelled by the minor or the guardian (Civil Code Art. 5).
- Our AI providers don't serve every country. You may not use glowbug where we don't offer it.
2. What glowbug is
- glowbug is a desktop app with an AI helper. While you hold your shortcut key and ask a question, the app takes one screenshot of the screen your cursor is on and records your voice. It sends both to AI providers to get an answer. It answers by voice and text and points to where to click on your screen. It also offers dictation, background tasks and shareable guides.
- The phone version (on our website at /m/) works the same way with a photo you take or pick.
- glowbug only points and explains. It never clicks, types, buys, sends or submits anything for you. You decide and perform every action yourself.
3. AI limitations and safety
- glowbug is an artificial intelligence, not a person. Its answers are generated automatically and are marked as AI in the app. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and it may point to the wrong place.
- glowbug doesn't give financial, investment, legal, tax, medical or other professional advice. Don't rely on it in emergencies or where a mistake could cause injury or serious loss.
- Check important actions yourself before you submit anything, especially on banking, payment, tax and government screens.
4. Third-party AI providers
Answers are generated by third-party AI providers. Anthropic generates answers and OpenAI provides speech recognition and voice. If we switch it on, xAI generates answers only when the main provider fails. Their availability, quality and models may change. You must also follow their usage rules (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI). The Privacy Policy lists what data each provider receives.
5. Your account
- You can try glowbug a few times without an email address. After that, you sign in with an email code or with a Kakao, Naver, Google or Apple account.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
- Each plan can be used on a limited number of computers at the same time (Free: 1, Pro: 2, Max: 3).
6. Plans
- We offer a free plan and the paid Pro and Max plans, billed monthly or yearly. We also sell top-ups, gift codes and one-time passes.
- Each plan has stated limits, such as answers per month and per day, background tasks and dictation minutes. The pricing page and the app show them. If you use up a plan's premium budget, answers may switch to a faster model and a system voice until the next period. The app tells you when this happens.
- The free plan never charges you.
- Prices are shown in full, including any taxes that apply, before you pay.
7. Who sells to you
Who the seller is depends on how you pay. Checkout shows it before you pay.
| How you pay | What you can buy | Seller | Terms that also apply |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paddle (worldwide, including KakaoPay and Naver Pay subscriptions in Korea) | Subscriptions, top-ups, gifts, passes | Paddle.com Market Ltd (UK), as reseller and merchant of record | Paddle's buyer terms |
| PortOne (Korea) with partner payment companies such as Toss Payments | Card subscriptions; one-time passes by card, KakaoPay, Naver Pay, Toss Pay, Payco, mobile phone billing, bank transfer or culture gift certificates | Us. PortOne (주식회사 코리아포트원) and its partner payment companies only process the payment | These terms |
| PayPro Global | One-time passes | PayPro Global, Inc. (Canada), as merchant of record | PayPro Global's terms |
| EBANX (Latin America) | One-time passes | Us. EBANX processes the payment | These terms |
| NOWPayments (crypto) | One-time passes | Us. NOWPayments processes the payment | These terms and section 5 of the Refund Policy |
When Paddle or PayPro Global is the seller, it handles payment, taxes, invoices and refunds, and we provide the service. In every case, we provide the service to you under these terms.
8. Automatic renewal
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. Checkout shows "renews automatically at [price] until you cancel" and asks for your consent before you pay.
- Korean subscriptions (paid through PortOne): we email you 7 days before each automatic payment.
- Paddle subscriptions: we email you about 30 days before a yearly plan renews. If you are on a monthly plan, we also remind you once a year. Each reminder states the price, how often you're charged and how to cancel.
9. Passes, gifts and top-ups
- Passes give a paid plan for 1, 3 or 12 months for a single payment. They don't renew automatically. When the pass ends, your account returns to the free plan. A pass starts as soon as payment is confirmed. Its time is added to any pass or gift time you have left.
- Gifts are codes for 1, 3 or 12 months of a plan. We email the code to the buyer. Anyone with the code can redeem it once. Codes don't expire. Keep them safe like cash: we can't replace a code that someone else has redeemed.
- Top-ups add extra allowance (for example, background tasks) to your current monthly usage period. Unused top-ups don't carry over to the next period.
10. Price changes
We may change the price of a subscription only by telling you at least 30 days before the change, by email and in the app. The new price applies to you only if you consent. If you don't consent, we won't charge you the new price. Your subscription then either continues at the old price or ends when your paid period ends, as the notice says. Price changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.
11. Cancelling
- You can cancel in one click at any time. Korean subscriptions: press "cancel subscription" under Account in the app. Paddle subscriptions: press "cancel or change subscription" under Account in the app. This opens Paddle's customer portal. You can also use the link in any Paddle email.
- After you cancel, you are not charged again, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. You can resume before then.
- Cancelling is never harder than signing up. We don't make you contact support or sit through offers before you can cancel.
- Cancelling stops renewal; it is not a refund request. For refunds and withdrawal, see section 12.
12. Refunds and withdrawal
Refunds and withdrawal are explained in full in the Refund Policy. In short:
- Korea: you can withdraw within 7 days (E-Commerce Act Art. 17(1)). Once you have used the paid features, withdrawal is limited to the part not yet provided (Art. 17(2)(5)). To protect your right to withdraw, we offer a free plan and an anonymous trial, we say clearly on the pricing and payment pages that withdrawal is limited once the service is used, and we ask for your consent at checkout (Art. 17(6)). You can also end a Korean subscription or pass early and get a pro-rata refund.
- EU and UK: you can withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason. If you asked us to start right away, we deduct an amount proportional to the service you received before you withdrew.
- Paddle and PayPro Global purchases: refunds are issued by the seller under its terms. We apply our Refund Policy as well.
- Crypto passes: we don't refund in crypto. Refunds the law or our Refund Policy require are paid in US dollars, or as extra service time if you prefer it.
- These rules don't limit any right your country's law gives you.
13. Failed payments and chargebacks
- If an automatic payment fails, we try again (for Korean subscriptions, after 1, 3 and 7 days). If it still fails, your account moves to the free plan. Paddle retries under its own process.
- Please contact us before you dispute a charge with your bank or card company. We usually solve it faster. While a chargeback is open, we may pause the paid features it covers. If the chargeback succeeds, the purchase is cancelled. If a chargeback is fraudulent, we may close the account. This doesn't affect your legal rights.
14. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use glowbug for anything illegal, or to harm, harass, deceive or spy on anyone;
- ask about screens showing other people's personal information unless you are allowed to share it;
- break, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape or resell glowbug or its AI access, or get around its limits (for example, with several free accounts);
- use it in breach of our AI providers' usage rules (section 4).
We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules. We will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it. If we close a paid account without a breach on your part, we refund the unused part of what you paid.
15. Your content and our rights
- Your questions, voice, screenshots, photos and the answers you get are yours. You let us process them only to provide glowbug, as the Privacy Policy explains. We don't use them to train AI models.
- When you save a guide, you let us host it and show it to people you share the link with, worldwide and non-exclusively. If you make it public, the permission covers everyone. Don't put personal data, passwords or content you don't have rights to in a guide. You can delete your guides. Report a guide to report@useglowbug.com.
- The app, its design, the companion character and our brand belong to us. You may use the app for its intended purpose. Other product names shown in glowbug belong to their owners and don't mean they endorse us.
16. Availability and changes to the service
We improve glowbug all the time and may change features. We don't promise uninterrupted service. If a change materially reduces what you paid for, we'll tell you in advance. You may then cancel and get a refund for the unused part. If we stop offering glowbug, we'll tell you at least 30 days in advance and refund the unused part of any prepaid period or pass.
17. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, glowbug is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that answers will be accurate or that glowbug will meet a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
18. Limitation of liability
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for claims about glowbug is limited to the amount you paid for glowbug in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, or for actions you take based on an AI answer that you could have checked.
- This section doesn't limit our liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, we are also liable as the law requires for foreseeable losses caused by our breach of these terms.
19. Ending the agreement
You can stop using glowbug and delete your account in the app at any time (Account → Delete my account). Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Paddle subscription by itself, so cancel it first. The Refund Policy says what happens to time you have prepaid. We may end these terms if you seriously or repeatedly break them. Where reasonable, we tell you first.
20. Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may go to court there.
- Courts: those competent under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. Consumers may also sue in the courts where they live.
- In Korea, you can also ask for help or mediation from the Korea Consumer Agency (1372, www.ccn.go.kr), the E-commerce Dispute Mediation Committee (www.ecmc.or.kr) or the Content Dispute Resolution Committee (www.kcdrc.kr).
- EU: the European Commission's online dispute resolution (ODR) platform closed on 20 July 2025, so we don't link to it. We are not obliged to take part in proceedings before a consumer dispute resolution body, and we don't currently do so. We will try to settle any complaint with you directly.
21. Changes to these terms
We announce changes in the app and on our website at least 7 days before they take effect, or 30 days before if they are unfavourable to you. The notice shows the effective date and the reason. We ask you to accept material changes in the app. If you don't accept them, you can cancel before they take effect and get a refund for the unused part of a prepaid period or pass.
